We are pleased to announce a Call for Abstract Submissions for the panel discussion for Thematic Area 5: “Legal Interpretation” as part of the 5th ILLA General Conference “Language and the Law in the Age of Migration”, organised by the International Language and Law Association (ILLA), which will take place at the University of Alicante (Spain), 7th — 9th September 2021.
Prof. Dr. Ralf Poscher, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime Security and Law, Freiburg im Breisgau, coordinates Thematic Area 5 and kindly invites you to submit an abstract for a talk on a relevant topic, reflecting your original perspective on problems of legal interpretation. The panel discussion aims to explore a wide range of issues of legal interpretation examined from the viewpoint of legal theory and philosophy or theoretical linguistics. Please note that a thematic link between your topic of choice and migration is notrequired for this Thematic Area. The duration of each talk must not exceed 20 minutes, which will then be followed by a discussion.
The deadline for abstract submission for Thematic Area 5: “Legal Interpretation” has been extended to Wednesday, 31st March 2021. For more information on how to submit an abstract for Thematic Area 5, as well as for the general requirements on abstract submission, please visit: https://illaconferences2021.ua.es/en/general-conference/abstract-submission .
Although the current COVID-19 pandemic has certainly posed some organizational challenges, ILLA and our partners from the organizational committee at the University of Alicante are committed to proceeding with the 5th ILLA General Conference as planned, while simultaneously providing alternative options for remote participation and attendance.
